Emanuel Ungaro Fashion Designer


French Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro was born on 13th of February 1933 in Aix-en-Provence, and is a son of Italian parents.

Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro was interested in sewing as like his father. At the age of 22, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro went to Paris and after three years, he started designing for the House of Cristobal Balenciaga. Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro worked there for six years and shifted to Courrèges. Later on, after four year, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro established his own Fashion house in Paris, in 1965. Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro launched the fashion house with the assistance of Swiss artist Sonja Knapp and Elena Bruna Fassio. In 1986, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro designed his first Prêt-à-Porter collection Parallèle and opened a boutique at 2, avenue Montaigne in Paris. While working tremendously, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro opened many other stores in the next 30 years, throughout the world. In 1973, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro launched his first men’s collection Ungaro Uomo.

Afterwards, in 1983, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro also launched a Perfume line Diva, successfully. At the age of 55, in 1988, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro married with Laura Bernabei, and has a daughter Cosima Ungaro. After the successful feedback of the perfumes, Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro later launched some other perfumes like Senso in 1987, Ungaro and Emanuel Ungaro For Men in 1991. In 1996, he started partnership too with Salvatore Ferragamo. The successful partnerships of Emanuel Ungaro, Salvatore Ferragamo and Bulgari lead them to launch a new company of perfumes, in 1997. Some of their famous and well-liked perfumes are Fleur de Diva, launched in 1997, Desnuda in 2001 and Apparition in 2004.

Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro got retired in 2004 and the Fashion brand was sold to internet entrepreneur Asim Abdullah. At that time, total wholesale revenue of their products were sold under the label of Fashion designer Emanuel Ungaro through licensing deals of approximately € 70 million.
