Gianfranco Ferre Fashion Designer


Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre, also termed as “the architect of Fashion designer” was born on the 15th of August 1944, in Legnano, Italy. In 1969, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre secured a degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano University.


Later on, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre developed an interest in the Fashion designing and started his carrier in this field in 1970. At first, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre started designing accessories, and then worked as a raincoat designer in 1972-74. Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre established his own company Baila in 1974 and launched his first signature collection for women in 1978. After the success of signature line for women, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre launched his first men's collection in 1982. By pursuing this, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre launched his first couture collection in Rome, in 1986.


Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre joined Christian Dior in Paris in 1989, as a Stylist Director. In 1996, it was declared that Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre would conclude his commitment with Dior with the Spring 1997 collection. Also Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre considered his own label better than any other company. Particularly, the classy white shirts become the symbol of personal signature of the Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre in the world of fashion designing. Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre was one of the French Fashion designers, owning an Italian brand. Other then launching, ready-to-wear for both men & women, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre also launched the sports clothing line and Fragrances, in particular.


Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre has also achieved many Fashion awards as well, including the prestigious L'Occhio d'Oro award. Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre has won the award of “Best Italian Designer” three times, some other tiles are, Gold Medal from the City of Milan, Commendatore del Ordine decoration from the President of the Italian Republic, and De d'Or (Golden Thimble Award) in 1989. Till 1994, Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre established 17 exclusive boutiques, throughout the world and had about 250 sales points altogether. Fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre died because of the massive brain hemorrhage on June 17, 2007.
