Women over 50 Still Wear High Heels

It is proved by a simple research, conducted by Saga Magazine (Great Britain). According to the results, almost 75% of women over 50 still prefer to buy and wear high heels.

The Daily Mail newspaper comments on the results saying the boundaries between age groups have blurred completely. Flat soles are no longer the aged women’s choice. Even at the age of 70 they want to be well-dressed, look fashionable and elegant.

However, if you feel concerned that high heels might be harmful for aged women, you can sigh with relief. Because even though women choose high-heeled shoes, they do not like a terrible spike heel. The high 12-centimeter spikes are popular with only 2% of the questioned women over 50. 73% of the 4400 interrogated women choose reasonably high heels and 30% prefer thick heels.

The magazine which published the research also warns women against excessive wearing of high-heeled shoes reminding of Mariah Carey who spent some time in a wheel-chair because of her unfortunate devotion to high heels.

Edmundo Castillo Light-up Shoes

While Tron: The Legacy is hailed as #1 box office blockbuster, designers keep on drawing ideas from the December winner movie. Here’s one of the latest – light-up sandals offered by footwear wizard Edmundo Castillo.

The Puerto-Rico-based designer – who is known for his collaboration with Italian brand Sergio Rossi – used the same electroluminescent material that the costumes in the picture were made from to create a pair of graceful LED-lighted women’s footwear.

Predictably called the “Light Sandals” they come on sale starting February 1 at the price of $1,650.

Other Tron-inspired ideas include a suite in a hotel in the town of Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. The Ice Hotel now boasts a neon-glowing suite that looks devastatingly futuristic.

3D glasses manufactured by eyewear company Oakley carry direct reference to the movie, being dubbed “Tron Limited Edition 3D Gascan” and adorned with graphics associated with the film story (to be purchased for $150).

Over 50 per cent of sufferers get back home with their shoes off, either barefoot or having borrowed a pair off their friends.

Every tenth woman experiences so much pain or gets so frustrated that she just kicks the new shoes off and leaves them behind.

In spite of these recurring troubles 20 per cent of women insist that they are not going to give up wearing heels no matter what – notwithstanding even the comment from a spokesperson for Insolia who said that spoiling fun on so many nights out because of shoes is “ridiculous”.

Christian Louboutin New Limited Satin Shoes Collection

Christian Louboutin, the most wanted shoe brand, created a special limited edition collection of shoes. All proceeds will go to poor families to help them start their own businesses.

Mr. Louboutin was inspired by the book ”Creating a World without Poverty”, which was written by the Nobel laureate and founder of the Grameen Foundation, Muhammed Yunus. The celebrity designer was so touched by the book that he decided to promote the author’s idea by releasing an exclusive collection called “Peace of Shoe”.

Pumps in this collection are covered with luxurious silk satin and trimmed with Indian ribbons. Only 33 pairs were produced and each was numbered and signed by the famous designer himself. Champagne-colored pumps are available in Los Angeles and Miami, while lavender-colored ones only in Miami, and pink – only in Los-Angeles.

The price of those special pumps is set at $1,495. 100% of proceeds will go directly to charity.
