Stefan Eckert Fashion Designer


Fashion designer Stefan Eckert started his career into fashion from his hometown Nuremberg. He dedicated his early years to the acquisition of the fine skills of tailoring art, which became a typical signature for his work. Before coming finally home to the place, where he once graduated from AMD Hamburg, he worked in Alexander McQueens Design Studio in London, attended the MA course at Central Saint Martins and launched his first collection at Galeries Lafayette Berlin.

In March 2009 a long dream came true for the designer by opening his own salon in Hamburg. For this unique place he took inspiration from the charming French couture-salons of the 1950´s. In his place, the designer creates both, his couture-collections and the individual made-to-measure works for his clients.He arranged many fashion shows to display his designs.

Stefan Eckert considers fashion as one of the most significant documents of the time we live in and is fascinated by the idea of catching the real life into his designs. His work is a mix of sensual and playful elements, clear silhouettes and high-end materials.

The designers interpretation of his woman, couldn´t be better descriped than by some lines of Jack Kerouac´s "on the road":

…..because the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awwww"…
