Guido Maria Kretschmer Fashion Designer


Guido Maria Kretschmer was born in 1965 in Munster, Germany. After his graduation he decided to study medicine but realized quite soon that his love and passion lies in designing and the creation with textiles.

His education in fashion design took place in Spain and France. After several internships in various European fashion houses and production companies he founded at the age of only 22 years his first label, which is based in Munster and Mallorca. In 1987 he won his first corporate fashion award and decided to devote and strengthen the area of fashion. In the following years the company became one of the leaders in corporate fashion.

Textile solutions for international companies, design concepts and production are his key aspects. In 2002, Guido Maria Kretschmer won the “World of TUI Award” for his design concept “Sand, Sea and Sky“.

In 2004 he founded the fashion label “Guido Maria Couture” focusing on exclusive day and evening wear as well as accessories and jewelry. His first collection was presented in Tokyo and Shanghai. Guido Maria Kretschmer has fitted out several artists from the international film, advertising and music industry such as Charlize Theron, Jane Seymore, Kim Wilde, Patricia Kaas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Alexandra Maria Lara, etc.

The designer gained major success for his costume design of the Oscar Wilde play “Bunbury”, which was shown at the Komodie in Berlin directed by Katharina Thalbach.
