Schumacher Summer/Spring 2011 Collection at Berlin Fashion Week

Schumacher, the Mannheim-based label by Dorothee Schumacher, presented her summer/spring 2011 collection at the Berlin Fashion Week at Bebelplatz July 9, 2010 in Berlin, Germany.

The new collection, a modern version of graphic playfulness, can be characterized as straightforward, sporty, and feminine to the hilt, true to the Schumacher label that has been around since 1989.

Models were dressed in slick ponytails with side parting, red extended eye shadow and strappy platforms.

The designs included short dresses, tops and mini skirts, cropped pants, three quarter length sleeve jackets with sheer and plunging shirts underneath.

Silhouettes ranged from fitted to flowing in black, grays, creams, and pink, to various tones of taupe. Dresses were accented with gold and silver sparkle details, sequins, ribbon trims and small bows.

"I love Schumacher," said German actress Alexandra Neldel (Verliebt in Berlin, Germany's version of Ugly Betty). "It fits me so well, this mix of leather, sequins, chiffon."

Supermodel Milla Jovovich who attended the show was generous with her praise for the show. "I especially loved Dorothee Schumacher's designs because of her creative aplomb, femininity and great attention to detail," said Milla.

This is family run firm's third appearance at the Berlin event.

"If you look deep in my pieces, you will find that feminine touch. It's in the little places, the little bows, the little things," Dorothee Schumacher told UK's Telegraph.
