Gianfranco Ferré Fall 2010

Popular brand Gianfranco Ferré skillfully prepared for this upcoming fall and the newly released ad campaigns prove it.

Emilio Tini, creator of the advertisement images, captured the model Eddie Klint, Georgina Stojiljkovic, and Nikola Jovanovic wearing clothes from the brand’s Fall 2010 collection. The campaign is conservative, but not too conservative, moderately bright, and not pretentious. The men’s line features long coats, conservative suits, massive bags, and stylish glasses. Women’s collection, on the other hand, includes both athletic and elegant evening models. Thus, even the most demanding fans of Gianfranco Ferré will find something to their taste in this Fall 2010 season collection.

This time the designer’s fall/winter collection captured the essence of the Gaultier brand. Black color, lots of furs and leather coupled with rich and lively colors, deep blue and yellow. One of the most amazing things about the show was skyrocketed hairstyles worn by models.

Exquisite Lingerie from Jean Paul Gaultier and La Perla

The La Perla label is getting ready for release in November a new lingerie collection created by Jean Paul Gaultier.

In a press release covering the coming collection Gaultier accentuated the special role lingerie plays in his work. “Lingerie is part of my core beliefs and my heritage,” said the renowned designer, adding that his first corset dress dates nearly 30 years back.

For this collection, he reveals, he decided to reflect upon conical bras and corsets designed as outerwear clothing.

Gaultier looks upon his collaboration with the Italian company as “natural and logical” considering their “savoir-faire” reputation.

The collection is mostly done in black and powder pink with coral and duck-egg called upon to set off the dominating color scheme.

There will be lacy corsets (of course), conically designed bras and bodices mentioned in the press release that bring to mind his 1990 Madonna collection. The underwear he created is meant to embrace the bodily curves to perfection – pants with a high waist and bustiers that emphasize the neckline.

The collection will be unveiled in November in multi-brand and department stores besides the La Perla and Gaultier places. The prices will come fairly high; to go by the current exchange rate, it will be something like $600 plus for bras and panties going all the way to over $1,000 if you set your heart on less ordinary pieces.

Two pieces of the new collection are to be exhibited at the Gaultier couture runway show in Paris on July 7th – a satin bra and a padded garter belt that is promised to lend “irresistible” grace to the lines of your waist and hips.

Calvin Klein To Recreate Alicia Silverstone’s Dress

Clueless starring Alicia Silverstone had a tremendous influence over teenage girls back in 90-s. It revolutionized the wardrobe of high school girls and became sort of style bible for those who wanted to look like Alicia’s character, Cher.

Calvin Klein’s Creative Director, Francisco Costa, has recently revealed plans to recreate the legendary slip dress worn by Alicia Silverstone’s character for her first date, the one that so much infuriated her conservative father.
The famous conversation introduced the dress:
Cher’s father Mel: What are you wearing?
Cher: A dress
Mel: Says who?
Cher: Calvin Klein.
Now Calvin Klein’s fans and Clueless’ fans get a chance to wear the slip dress.

The dress that was launched in two colors – white and red – Will be available in L.A.’s Confederacy only. The launch is scheduled for the end of August. The price tag is pretty hefty – $916.

New Face of Fendi Bags

Ilaria Venturini Fendi (the sister company of Fendi, which is responsible for the accessories line) decided to launch its own brand – Carmina Campus. Models in the first collection were inspired by African culture and style, especially from Kenya and Uganda, which are very popular this year.

However, the brand did not use African materials, but applied materials, which are currently very popular among couture handbags, namely plastic and other synthetic materials. Moreover, production will be carried out exclusively in Africa using recycled materials, such as safari tents and other “garbage” left behind by Europeans during their vacations in Africa.
